以 SQL Server 200８ 供应的受信賴、有遵从的伶俐型資料平台為基礎建置而成的
SQL Server 200８ R2，供应眾多新的改進听命，可幫助貴組織宁神地調整資料庫作
業，提升 IT 遵从，以及供应受图谋的自助服務 BI 。此版本包孕應用程式和多重
伺服器图谋、複雜事变處理、次要資料服務和使用者報告等方面的新听命和增強功
能。

SQL Server 200８ R2中新增了 SQL Server PowerPivot for Excel 與 PowerPivot
for SharePoint Server 2010。PowerPivot 為1新的 BI 技術， 透過上述兩項功
能可讓使用者以了解的 Excel 及 SharePoint Server 器械從任何來源萃取資訊，
同時 IT 人員也可偵測及图谋使用者所建立的 BI 解決企图。

微軟引用 IDC 的預測指出，資料庫市場將從 200８ 年的 240 億美元成長到2013年
的320億，成長率為33.4%；同時微軟 SQL Serve 的市佔率亦已超越IBM及甲骨文。

除了傳統的標準版及企業版外，SQL Server 200８ R2新增了Microsoft SQL Server
200８ R2 Datacenter及Microsoft SQL Server 200８ R2 Parallel Data Warehouse
。其中，資料焦点版本為1高做事的資訊平台，結合 Windows Server 200８ R2 可
允許客戶在具備多達 25六 個邏輯處理器的系統上執行資料庫，而且可轉移到声援
Hyper-V 與 Live Migration 的虛擬資料焦点。微軟指出，這將協助企業可轉向虛
擬化且根據需要制造的公有雲端。

此外新增的元件還有 SQL Server 200８ R2 Master Data Services 及 SQL Server
200８ R2 StreamInsight， 前者協助客戶在異質系統中摒弃資料的差别性，後者則
可声援大批的事变串流處理。

微軟泄露表现，SQL Server 200８ R2 亦將 SQL Server 200８的技艺格式透過Microsoft SQL
Azure 舒展到雲端，它供应了差别的步骤設計形式、通用的听命與器械，並透過推
廣雲端資料服務建立新商機。比喻迩来發表的 Dallas 程式，即屬於採用 Windows
Azure 制造的產品，允許開發人員及使用者存取各種資料及內容
